Canadian Politician. A native of Kénogami (Québec), he studied at the Saint-Pierre school, at the seminary of Joliette and at the University of Montréal. He was received physician in 1947. He opened his practice in Joliette where he served as president of the medical office of the Saint-Eusèbe hospital, from 1952 to 1970. He was president of the Medical Society of Lanaudière, chair of Deka Inc, and director of the Real estate company of Joliette. He was also a full member of the College of physicians and surgeons of the province of Québec, of the Federation of general practitioners and of the Association of the French-speaking physicians of Canada. On April 29, 1970, he was elected Liberal representative for the district of Joliette to the National Assembly of Québec. He was re-elected in Joliette-Montcalm in 1973. He was sworn as Minister of State for Health on May 12, 1970, then as Minister of State for Social Affairs on December 22, 1970. In February 1971, he became minister responsible for the student placement and the return to work of Social Assistance beneficiaries. On October 14, 1971, he was appointed Minister of State responsible for the Office of development of Eastern Quebec, and he was given also the responsability of the Office of planning and development of Québec, on May 31, 1972. From July 31, 1975 to November 25, 1976, he served as Minister of Income. He was defeated in the general election of November 15, 1976. After that, he resumed his practice of medicine.
