What is known about John H Webster is -

1. He married Celia Elizabeth Snider 23 Nov 1865. Celia was daughter of Elder John Snider and Celia Wright [daughter of Richard Wright, Jr. and Caroline Kittrell, Davidson County, NC]

2. They had a son, John Alfred Webster [b.1868–1904].

MANY THANKS TO WilliamAllred13 who originally shared this on 05 Sep 2016 for finding and posting this as proof of John's death -

The Greensboro Patriot, 18 May 1867, p. 1, col. 6.:

"KILLED BY A HORSE. - We regret to learn that Mr. John Webster of Davidson County, was kicked by a horse and killed on Wednesday. Mr. Webster was a good and brave soldier in the late Confederate army. He was married about a year ago, and leaves a wife and many friends to mourn his untimely death.

His family resided in this place during the war." Salisbury Banner.

His actual date of death is 15 May 1867; the Banner was likely a weekly paper - but by mention of day - calendar would show the specific date of death. He was likely buried within a day - two at the most. John's place of burial is still in question.

I have placed him here with his first and only love - in hopes of finding the actual place for BOTH of them.

Note that no mention was made of his son. John Alfred actual date of birth indicates that he was born within a few month's after his father's early and untimely death.

Information requested and proof required of knowledge of any other cemetery site where John is definitely buried in order to change. Thank you.
