Harvey Edward Richardson, 88, Joplin, died October 26, 2014 in Mt. Vernon, at the Missouri Veterans' Home following a lengthy illness.

Harvey was born May 21, 1926 in Granby, the son of Erastus and Esther Lucretia (Gibbons) Richardson.

He was a lifelong area resident and worked for Joplin Piano for over 30 years as well as being self employed as a piano technician.

Harvey served in the US Army Air Corp and was a member of Frisco Church, Webb City, MO.

He married Florene Brock on March 1, 1947 in Webb City and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Denis Richardson and wife, Candace, of Richmond, Texas; two daughters, Diane Smith and husband, Kervyn, of Joplin and Renita Massey and husband, Terry, of Midlothian, Texas; two brothers, John Richardson of Blackrock, Arkansas and Jack Richardson of Denison, Texas; three sisters, Easter Wells of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Durham of Austin, Texas and Ann Crosby of Joplin; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by a granddaughter and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Harvey was born/raised in Granby on a 160 acre farm just east of Granby. He lived most of his life in the Joplin, MO area until he was injured in the EF5 Tornado 5/22/11. He resided in the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mount Vernon, MO from Sept. 2012 until his death.
