Evelyn Coleman Bird Hadden, 88, died Sunday, July 31, 2005. The Tattnall County native lived most of her life in Savannah before moving back to the Metter area in 1988. She was a seamstress working with Levy's Department Store and a parachute specialist having worked at Hunter Army Airfield. She loved to work in her flowers and yards and loved to ballroom dance, winning several awards. She was considered an outstanding cook by her family.
Survivors include her son, Pat Bird of Cobbtown; a sister, Eunice Collins of Metter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Morgan Family Funeral Home, with burial in Primitive Grove Cemetery.
