August 4, 1941 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Joseph Nepple, 81, who had lived in this community for 48 years, succumbed to a long illness at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Her death was attributed to frailties attendant to her advanced age. She had been in declining health for the last several years and bedfast for three months.
The body is resting at the Dietrich Funeral Home until the time of the services. Rites are to be at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning at SS Peter and Paul's church with the Rev L Schenkelberg offering the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Born in Germany Dec 30, 1859 Mrs Nepple had lived in the US since she was a child of 6 years. 75 years ago she came to this country to live at Guttenberg, Iowa. She had also resided in Nebraska for a short time before coming to Carroll 48 years ago.
Mrs. Nepple was twice married. Her first husband was George Nieman, and to them were born 6 children, two of whom, preceded her in death.
Surviving are Mrs Anna Dangel, Glendale, Henry Nieman, Carroll; John Nieman, Desmet, SD; and Joseph Nieman, Carroll.
Her second husband was Frank Nepple. They were the parents of one son and two daughters, all of who survive: Mrs. W.C. Kramer (Josephine), Minam, Ore; William Nepple, Wall Lake; and Mrs. Will Meis (Katherine) Carroll.
Mrs. Nepple was a member of SS Peter and Paul's Church and the Christian Mothers Sodality or the parish.
