Mr. Fitts was born in Cortland, New York on January 24, 1951. He was the son of the late Helen D. (Galvin) Fitts Charbonneau and Jerome E. Fitts.
He was a 1969 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and a 1973 graduate of Villanova University. He was employed by Hill Storage & Rigging, Inc.
John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ann (Markunas) Fitts, and sons Robert H. Fitts and Daniel J. Fitts all of Middle Paxton Township. Also surviving are his brother, Jerome H. Fitts, of Dauphin and an aunt, Ruth Fitts Tomlinson, of Doylestown. In addition, John is survived by several cousins, nieces and in-laws.
John was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, the Ponitac-Oakland Club International, the Antique Automobile Club of America and several other antique car and truck organizations.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 at 11 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 409 Allegheny Street, Dauphin with Father Edward Quinlan officiating. Burial will be in the Dauphin Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
