Artist, Order of the British Empire awarded by Queen Elizabeth in 1976 for contribution to the arts. Born Kevin Charles Hart in Broken Hill New South Wales, Pro was raised on his parents sheep property 'Laloona Station'just outside Menindee. Due to his talent in the arts and his knack for inventing he was nicknamed 'Professor' hence the name Pro. He was a miner in his younger years and captured images of the Australian Outback by painting at night. First recognized in 1950 when he was discovered by the director of the Adelaide Art Gallery. Although his artwork has been exhibited all over the world, he still retained his links to Broken Hill and lived there for the majority of his life. Later in his career he became famous for a picture of a dragonfly made from spaghetti and tomato sauce for a carpet stain removing ad, where the phrase "Oh Mr Hart, what a mess" became a household catchcry. Pro Hart Passed away in the early hours of March 28 2006 from the effects of Motor Neuron disease at his Broken Hill home.
