She was a daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Nannie Morrell Lacey and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Floyd Wright, in 1955, and Dwight L. Maugans, in 1973.
Mrs. Maugans was a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church where she served as church librarian for 17 years. She was presently a member of the First Baptist Church of Kingsport and was former treasurer for the Watauga Baptist Association of Carter and Johnson counties for over 21 years. She was a charter member and treasurer of the Carter County Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary with twelve thousand hours of volunteer work to her credit.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel.
There was a private interment at Happy Valley Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 5, 2000.
