Eddie A. Pitts, age 80, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Friday, December 11, 2009, at his home. Eddie was proud to be a decorated veteran of the United States Air Force, who served during the end of the Korean conflict. He married Maxine Wortman on November 15, 1949, in Rapid City, South Dakota. He drove a truck for many years, at one time driving for Prime Trucking Company. Eddie liked playing his guitar and loved cars and golf. He was very much a family man who nicknamed all of his grandchildren and loved holiday family gatherings. He is survived by: his wife of sixty years, Maxine Pitts, of the home; two daughters, Rose Smith, Clinton, Missouri and Felicity Castiglia, Elkview, West Virginia; one son, John Pitts and his wife, Sharon, Springfield, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Donna Pitts, Clinton, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. His sons, Ronald J. Pitts and Joseph H. Pitts, and his grandson Clayton L. Sales, preceded him in death. Graveside Services, with a Military Honor Guard, will be Monday, December 14, 2009, at Clinton Memory Gardens in Clinton.
