GIUNTA, JOSEPH EDWARD,
83, moved to his Heavenly Home from Flesher's Fairview Health Center on Wednesday, March 22, 2006.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII. He was actively serving onboard his ship in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked in 1941.
He was a retired Master Electrician and belonged to the Electrical Union in Miami, Florida. For the past 15 years he has resided at 330 Bethany Church Road, Fairview, NC 28730.
Surviving are his wife, Eula Merrell Giunta; stepdaughters, Deborah Siewek, Phoenix, Arizona; Sandra Smith, Miami, Florida; stepsons, John Bernard Waterhouse, III and wife, Barbara of Asheville, NC; Phillip Waterhouse and wife, Alice of Miami, Florida; step-grandchildren, John Bernard Waterhouse, IV, David Siewek, Michelle Siewek, and Dawn Werry; step great-grandson, Adan Fogleman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, March 25th at Hooper's Creek Baptist Church, Fletcher, NC, of which he was a member. The Reverend Dr. Lawrence Rhodes will be officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler, NC, with full Military Graveside Rites conducted by The NC National Guard Military Honor's Team.
The family wishes to express their great appreciations to the nurses and staff members of Flesher's Health Care Center. Memorials may be made to the Center at 3016 Cane Creek Road, Fairview, NC 28730.
