Pamplin--Mary Ellen Rigney Slayton, 74, Pamplin, died early Friday, Feb. 19 in Clinton Convalescent Center, Clinton, MD. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Slayton, Sr.

Born in Callands, she was a daughter of the late Harry Rigney and Lucy Amos Rigney. She was a member of Elon Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty M. Dalton, Temple Hill, MD.; one son, Charles W. Slayton, Jr., Charlotte, N. C.; five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Essie Gibson, Callands.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home, with burial in Pamplin Cemetery.

Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
