PAMPLIN—James Herman Davis, 72, died Friday in Lynchburg General Hospital.  Born in Appomattox County, he was the son of Hunter H. Davis and Betty Webber Davis.  He was retired from N&W Railway and was a member of Pamplin Methodist Church.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Wilsie Price Davis; three sons, James H. Davis, Jr., of Pamplin, Leroy Davis and Dennis M. Davis of Hampton; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Doss of Pamplin; three brothers, Henry Daivs, Pamplin, and Frank Davis of Hampton, Russell Davis of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Harder and Mrs. Wilsie C. Davis of Norfolk, Mrs. Ada Price of Suffolk, and four grandchildren.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Carl T. Paughf at Robinson Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Pamplin Community Cemetery.
