John West Rayfield, 67, of Sevierville went home to be with his Lord and other family members who were awaiting him in heaven. John began his journey at the Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee in Knoxville.

Mr. Rayfield was a Christian by faith and was a Baptist by choice. During John’s lifetime he was employed as a heavy equipment operator.

Waiting for John in Heaven is his son, Charles Edward Rayfield, his parents Denton and Myrtle Leona Lethco Rayfield, Sr.

John leaves behind to mourn his passing his sons, Bobby Rayfield, Mike Rayfield and wife, Kim; loving companion, Iva Louise Gentry; brothers, Eugene Rayfield and wife Roberta, Denton Rayfield, Jr. and wife, Lucy, Carl Othie Rayfield and wife Margie, Everette Steve Rayfield and wife Shirley; sister, Helen Tipton and husband Carl "Burnis". Besides the immediate family John leaves behind many other relatives and a host of friends who will miss John. The family wishes to give special thanks to Judy "Sissie" and Donald Hawkins, Mick Webb and all of the other family and friends who donated their time and prayers to John and the family during this difficult time.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. Cecil Ward and Rev. Dallas Moore officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
