Grace was daughter of Vernon and Emma (Lumsdon) Dimmitt. According to the cemetery's records, Grace died from a defective heart. She is buried in an unmarked grave in the family plot of her Aunt Susan (Dimmitt) Carr.

Grace Jeanette, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dimmitt, died this morning at the home 118 Blackhawk Street. Besides the parents, a brother Jack survives.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence, in charge of Rev. W.P. Fink, pastor of the West End Presbyterian Church. Burial will be made in Ottumwa Cemetery.
