Per the Indianapolis Recorder, she died July 30, 1963 in Indianapolis. She was born in North Vernon, educated in the local schools there as well as at Indiana State College. She taught elementary school in Snow Hill, Maryland for a few years, then was secretary to the Executive Secretary of the NAACP for 18 years. Returning to Indiana, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service. She was also a sister in Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. She was survived by two brothers and one sister.
