Our Heavenly Father, and His Infinite wisdom has seen fit to remove from our midst Mr. Harrison Helton. Beautiful in life, beautiful in death, he fell asleep October 12, 1927.

Tread softly, our friend sweetly sleeps wrapped in the drapery of death under its mounds of gorgeous and beautiful flowers, with burning tears and sweetest words, we placed his mortal body to rest.

He always looked on the bright side of life and wanted his “Lord's will be done.” We weep quietly because our friend has gone; to return no more; we miss his smiling face and cheerful words. No church was ever blessed with a more noble and Christ like character then brother Helton. For 26 years the home of Mr. and Mrs. Helton has been a home of prayer. Mr. Helton joined Pleasant Hill M.E. Church Feb 12, 1901. A few years later he moved into Shiloh community and has been a loyal servant to Shiloh Baptist Church until his death.

The death of Mr. Helton has been a great loss to our church and community. He leaves his faithful companion and seven children -six sons and one daughter. Three children are deceased. He is also survived by one brother and one sister, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. To know him was to love him.

Grieve not dear children, for your father has gone to join the Heavenly throng and soon God and His angel band will cal you to join him in that beautiful land. His departure has left a vacancy in home and church which never be filled.

The golden gates were opened, a gentle voice said, come, and with farewells spoken, He calmly entered home,
