Margaret Olmsted Walker
As briefly noted in the last issue of the Express, Mrs. Walker, one of the few remaining pioneers of territorial days, died here Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Her age was 86 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Margaret Olmsted was born Sept 21, 1826. She was married to John J. Walker at Nauvoo, Ill. April 6, 1841 and in 1855 the family settled in Milton township, this county. Mr. Walker died April 4, 1892.
To them where born 11 children of whom five sons survive their parents, all living in this state,towit: Ambrose at Twin Valley:John and Edward in Roseau county: George at Duluth: Theodore in this village, only the later being present at the funeral.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Mr. Woodcock at the Congregational Church Saturday afternoon;music by Misses Josyln and Laura Moniton, Messrs. Crawford and Taylor, Miss Eva Smith organist.
Internment was in the family lot in Milton Cemetery, Undertaker Andrist in charge, the bearers being grandsons of the deceased.
