Violet Waters Miles age 86 of Maryville. On this day, October 6, 2014 God called one of his angels home.

Violet was born October 28, 1927 in Walland, TN and was a longtime resident of Walland. She was affectionately known as Mammaw Violet to everyone. She was of the Presbyterian faith and lived a simple life based on her beliefs. Her greatest passion was spending time with family and friends. She loved to talk about all the wonderful memories that she had of her family and she leaves all those memories to be cherished by her family and friends. Violet was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She always put her family first and had a heart full of compassion for everyone that she met. She loved feeding the birds, gardening, canning, working in the flower beds and reading. Most of all she loved talking on the phone with her friends and family. She is and always will be loved and greatly missed, more that words can explain. She was always quick with a smile, a kind work and a shoulder to lean on and dearly loved by all. Violet had 35 years of dedicated service to the Blount County Community Action Agency where she was kitchen supervisor. She dedicated those years to preparing meals for Meals on Wheels.

Violet is preceded in death by: Parents, Jake Waters and Pauline Lawson Waters; Son, Cleve Miles; Sister, Christine Trent; Brothers, Arnold and Hubert Waters.

Also a very special great-grandson Alex Ward (the love of her life) and a host of great grandchildren; Brothers, Lester Waters and wife Mary, Spears Waters and wife Edith.
