Leslie Edward, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Baker, was born near Forest city, Mo., Feb. 21, 1892, and died May 7, 1922, at his home in Forest City, at the age of 30 years, 2 months and 16 days.

Most all of his life was spent in and near Forest City. His sudden and unexpected death was a great shock to his loved ones and friends. While having been in the care of a physician for some time none though his condition critical until a short time before his death, he being down in town a short time on Saturday morning. His condition became alarming Saturday night, and at 8:00 o'clock Sunday morning, his spirit took its flight.

About six years ago, Leslie was converted to Christ, made the confession of his faith and was baptized, becoming a member of the Methodist Church.

He was conscious almost to the hour of his death and realized that he was soon to pass away. he made some requests concerning his business affairs and funeral arrangements. He sought and found peace and deliverance from fear of death, and so expressed himself in his last hours. Leslie was exceedingly kind to his parents and also the other members of his family.

He leaves to mourn his departure, father, mother; one brother, Herschel Baker, of Perham, Minn.; five sisters, Mrs. Wylie Keiffer, also of Perhmam, Minn.; Mrs. John Smith, of Lawton, Okla.; Mrs. Sidney Holland, of Crawford, Georgia, and Miss Agnes and Naundis, at home; a grandmother, Mrs. Mary Baker, of Holyoke, Colo.; a grandfather, Thomas Stewart, of Forest City, and many other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held at the Methodist Church, Forest City, Mo., Thursday morning, May 11, at 10 o'clock, conducted by Albert Martin, assisted by Rev. Neighbours, after which the body was laid away in the Forbes Cemetery.
