Eldest child of John and Agnes Kujava Stefanski, he was born in Poland, immigrated with his parents into the USA in May, 1880, landing in New York. A second son, Thomas, was born in NYC in 1882. Wayrich is included in the 1895 Wisconsin census with the family but at some point after that time, he ran away from home.

My grandfather was a younger brother of Wayrich; he told my mother that his brother 'rode the rails' and was never heard from again, but there is no evidence to verify that as fact. In any case, the rest of his life is a mystery.

My mother, daughter of William Martin Stefanski, remembers that her father talked about this brother, whose name she thought might be George.
