Son of John Q. Ault and Mary Ettie Whitcomb. Married to
Treva J. Bennett on 24 Jan 1935. PAUL AULT was inducted into the U.S. Army at Frankfort, Indiana on September 20, 1917, and was shipped overseas on April 9, 1918. He took part in battles at Toule, Chateau Thiery, and St. Mehiel, serving with Co. D, 1st Battalion in World War I. His last assignment was to Battery A, 103rd Battalion, and he was discharged on November 15, 1918, returning from overseas on January 21, 1919. He was awarded the bronze victory button. Paul returned to farming with his father, living with his parents and continuing to live there after they were both gone. He was a member of the American Legion Post at Frankfort, the Forty & Eight, and gave an annual goat feast for the Legion, the goat being one he had raised on his farm. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge at Beard. Buried at Whiteman Cemetery.
