Lillian M. Backus Marani, 75, of Syracuse died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Ogdensburg, Mrs. Marani lived in Syracuse more than 60 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Middlemore and Judy Marani, both of Syracuse; two sons, Frank of Liverpool and Clarence of Syracuse; a sister, Mae Gmyr of Syracuse; a brother, Edward Backus of Syracuse; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Farone & Son Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
