Ruth E. Hayes, age 100, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Doctors Hospital West, Columbus, OH.

She was born on August 18, 1914 in Johnson County, KY, moved to Dayton OH., where she resided for over 60 years, then moved to Columbus, OH, where she lived out the remainder of her life, the last years at Emeritus at Pinnacle. Member Fish Trap Baptist Church, where she was baptized in 1937. Ruth retired from Macy's.

Preceded in death by: Parents: George and Lula Auxier. Husband of 57 years: Bill Hayes. 11 brothers and sisters.

Survived by: Niece and caretaker: Linda Boldman. Numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews from both the Hayes and Auxier sides of the family.

Friends may call at Jones-Preston Funeral Home, 807 S. Mayo Trail., Paintsville, KY., Sunday, 4-7 PM where service will be held 11:00 AM Monday. Pastor Samuel Reed officiating. Interment Johnson County Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, KY. Local arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St
