Gazella Wise Matthews Pierson passed away on Sunday September 28, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Harrison Matthews and Ella Mae Owen Matthews, and siblings, Hazel Middleton, Wilma Moore, Glen Allender, Eloise McCall, Opal Green, and Elmo Matthews.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry Cleveland Pierson. son Larry Ray Gordon and wife Sally Sawyer Gordon; grandchildren, Jeff Gordon and wife Kelli Jackson Gordon, Stephanie Gordon Voso and hisband James B. Voso; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Pierson, Megan, and Caleb Gordon, Nicholas and Sarah James Voso; siblings, Appless Hubbard and Wanda Kate Owen.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
