Services for Marie A. Conley, 79, were held Saturday, Oct. 1,1994 at SS. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. The Rev. Robert Hannemann officiated at the
service. Burial was held at Prairie Hill Cemetery. Marie Conley of Buck Creek died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1994 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a brief illness.
Marie Conley was born May 1, 1915 at Cass Township, rural Anamosa, the daughter of Albert and Anna Schroeder Weers. She received her education in the rural Anamosa area. On Aug. 23, 1937, she was united in marriage with Raymond Conley at Cedar Rapids. Following their marriage, the couple fanned in the Center Junction area for a brief period of time before moving to a farm in the Cass Township area, where they farmed until retiring from farming in the late 1960s. For the past four years, she has maintained her residence in Buck Creek.
Survivors include two sons, Wilbur of Hopkinton and John and his wife Renee of Anamosa; a great-niece, Elaine Siebels; five grandchildren, Bryan Conley and his wife
Geraldine, Wayne Conley and his wife Elizabeth, Angela Conley, Monica Conley and Heather Conley; six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews which she helped raise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, in 1977; three brothers and two sisters. Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa was in charge of arrangements
