Committed Suicide
"Jules Mouton, colored, aged 34 years, committed suicide on Wednesday at noon in the home of his brother-in-law, Ovignac Bosset, near the refinery. He made a loop with a shoe string from one of his shoes, hung it over the trigger of a shot gun loaded with number 6 shot, placed the muzzle to his cheek and then pulled the trigger by inserting his foot unto the loop of the shoe string. A big hole was blown in his head and death was instantaneous. The rash deed was caused by ill health. Deputy Coroner Clark viewed the body and gave the cause of death as suicide."
