VERONA - Arthur E. Freeman, 51, of Verona RD 2, collapsed yesterday while working on the construction of a dormitory at the Kirkland College in Clinton. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Preston R. Clark, coroner who said death was due to heart disease.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., son of Gustave and Frederica Mitchell Freeman. He married Harriet F. Adle in Rome. The couple lived in Verona for the past 15 years and earlier in Taberg. He was a carpenter for the Ryan and McCaffrey Construction Company. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Freeman was a member of Calvary Methodist Church and Carpenters Union.
He leaves his wife, two sons, Arthur F. of Garden Grove, Calif., and Robert W. of Verona; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Margaret) Combs of Fort Pierce, Fla., Mrs. Arthur (Lillian) Henry of Verona, and Mrs. James (Marion) Ratke of Oneida; and four brothers, James of Rome, Gustave of Fort Pierce, Fla., Donald of Oregon and Frederick of Okla.
The funeral will be at 2 Friday from the Griffin and Aldridge Funeral Home with burial in Rathbunville Cemetery.
