James "Curly" Marion Nuchols, age 83 of Maryville died at 5:45 AM, Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended East Maryville Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA with 45 years of service, a member of their 25-Year Club, and worked maintaining 2 farms most of his life. He also served in World War II with The Corp of Engineers in Europe. Preceded in death by: Parents, Clyde & Maude Nuchols. Survivors include: Wife, Lorean Caughron Nuchols; Sister, French N. Kidd of Maryville; Nephews, Charles R. Thomas, Charles R. Caughron, Gary L. Caughron all of Maryville; Nieces, Carolyn Bair of PA, Debra Miller and Gina Staley both of Maryville; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:30 PM, Friday, March 16, 2001 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. David Webster officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 17, 2001 at Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience after 11:00 AM, Friday, March 16, 2001 at Smith Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 PM, Friday, March 16, 2001 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
