Leonora Devine Hawkins Lansberry died Saturday, July 5, 1997, in Kaysville, Utah, at age 92 of causes incident to age.
She was born in Bountiful, Utah, February 27, 1905, where she grew up. She married A. Douglas Lansberry August 6, 1932, in Yuma, Arizona. They lived in the San Fernando Valley in California all their married life. He died April 14, 1965.
She was a good and loving mother who endured hard times and made many sacrifices raising a family in the 30's and 40's. She was a worker in the Los Angeles LDS Temple where she sometimes assisted deaf people using sign language. As both her parents were deaf from childhood, she had an excellent command of signing.
She is survived by three children, Don (Arline) of Kaysville, Dale (Maria) of Fallbrook, Calif.; and Marian (Andrew) Stamas of Ravenna, Ohio. She has one brother and two sisters, Edward (Doris) of Ogden, Alice of Escondido, Calif.; Marjorie of Sedona, Arizona. She also has 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandchild. Preceded in death by a brother, Leo Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 1997, at the Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 440 North Main, where family and friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
