Nancy Quay Yazzie, 73, of Fort Apache died Sept. 11, 2014, in Show Low. She was born May 7, 1940, to the late Alfred and Louise (Lavender) Quay in Carrizo.

Nancy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as a young woman she served a mission for the church in the Laguna California area.

She had a very strong love of faith and family and nothing meant more to her.

Nancy loved to go for her daily walks and it was during these walks that she found much needed solace.

She loved children of all ages and many referred to her as grandma.

Photography was a wonderful pastime of Nancy’s and her family will forever cherish the wonderful memories that she captured.

Nancy loved to travel and did so as a major keynote speaker for many serious mentally ill conventions throughout the United States. This was a cause near and dear to her heart and she loved the wonderful people and friendships she made along the way.
