William Shirley Gallihugh, 86, of Oak Park, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his residence. Born on March 16, 1927, in Madison, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Gallihugh and Edith Deal Gallihugh. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carloe Pullen; one son, Eddie Tester; two brothers, Charles and Claude Gallihugh; and five sisters, Rosa Hartman, Sarah Garner, Edna Peyton, Bertha Johnson, and Virginia Gallihugh. Mr. Gallihugh was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oak Park, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Madalyn Delcie Gallihugh of Oak Park; four daughters, Linda Ladd of Louisa, Nancy Rogers of Culpeper, Judy Metcalf of Missouri, and Devony Kutz of Pennsylvania; five sons, Donnie Tester of Richmond, Wayne Gallihugh, Paul Gallihugh and Ronnie Gallihugh, all of Madison, and Steve Gallihugh of Culpeper; two brothers, John and Jesse Gallihugh, both of Madison; two sisters, June Chastain of Madison, and Ruby Walker of Culpeper; and a special niece, Frances Middleton of Orange. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Oak Park. The Reverend Barry Van Pelt will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, General Delivery, Oak Park, VA 22730. Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, is in charge of arrangements.
