Daughfus Brown was born Mar. 5, 1918 on Mad, Creek, Leslie County Kentucky. He was the 2nd of 8 children born to Frank Brown 1892-1971 and Bertha Pennington 1895-1981. He was the grandson of Jake Brown Sr ( 1865-) and Nancy Brown (1873-) of Bad Creek, Leslie, Kentucky, and grandson of Levi Penington 1867-1952 and Louisa Asher Penington 1882-1952 both buried Bunker Hill Cemetery, Salem, Indiana

In 1920 the family lived in Marrowbone precinct, Leslie Kentucky.

James R Sherman b abt 1935 grandson, son of Dorothy Brown

In his early life he traveled across the country living in many communities. He eventually settled iin Idaho Falls, Idaho and was married to Etta Almira Cleverley in about 1940. They had one daughter in 1941 and one son Delroy James Brown 1943-1943 who died from pneumonia.

He worked as a Professional Driver .

He enlisted in the US Army Jun 13, 1944 at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah listing his civil occupation as selected chauffeurs and drivers, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor.

He served as PFC in the US ARMY WORLD WAR II in the renown 2nd Ranger Batallion.

After the war he continued his occupation as a professional Truck driver. He received several Driving awards and diamond pins denoting 3-4 million miles of driving. He participated in driving competitions in many locations. He participated in the Utah State Fair in 1951 competing in Truck driving competitions and winning awards. At that time he worked for Cark Tank Lines.

He married a 2nd time and then later divorced.

He married Marian Elaine Barnes Lowe on June 25, 1960. She had 3 children from an earlier marriage.

Later he lived in Shady Grove, Oregon, then Eagle Point Oregon 1993, and finally Redding, California .

His wife Marian died in 1997.

He died May 3, 2002 in Redding, California,
He is survived by his daughter Dorothy Blake, Idaho Falls, Idaho and by stepdaughters Betty Jessop of Newark, Louise Kay of Redding and Karen Jessop of Hayward, and by one sister Dorothea B. Brown Miller, Salem, Indiana, and many grandchildren.

Buried in the Lawncrest Memorial Park, Redding, Shasta County, California.
