Musician. Born the son of a minister, he learned to play music on his grandmother's piano. At 10 years of age he started playing the saxophone and went on to play sax for the "Velvetones," one of Jimi Hendrix early musical groups. He also played with "Emergency Exit," "Ballin'jack" and other Seattle based bands and later went on to play with "War" and "Santana." He also played for Lola Falana and in 1979 their album "Street Angel" was released on MCA Records. He was in an automobile accident in 1986 and sustained a neck injury that caused numbing in his hand and he lost his ability to play bass.
