He married Jemima Mitchell, 1745 New Castle, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.

He migrated to North Carolina with a large caravan that moved south at the same time. It is possible that he and his family first settled in Randolph County.

His Will made Jan. 3 was recorded in the May term 1804 in Orange Co., North Carolina - Of his two sons, William and Isaac, he gave Isaac all of the real estate. William and Isaac had married sisters, Hester and Nancy Dickey, daughters of James Dickey. After his death in the Spring of 1804, the will was probated in May Court, 1804 in Orange County, North Carolina.

A Short Will in legal form } In the name of god Amen I
State of North Carolina Orange County} Cantriel of the County & State at
foresaid planter being very sick and weak in body but passet health
and mind and memory thanks be given to God Caling unto mind the
mortality of my body and Knowing that it is appointed for all men
once to die I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament

and that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my
my Soul into the hands almighty God that gave it and my Body I recom-
mend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion
of my Executors nothing doubting but that at the general resurrection
I Shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as Touch-
ing such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me in this
life with I do give devise and dispose in the following manner & form
First I give and bequeath to my beloved son Isaac Cantriel all
my lands and Tenaments and negroes horses cattle Hogs and sheep
and pottery and Household property and working tools & all
Debts due me in Enewise mine and all my cash except twenty
Shilling I will and bequeath to Rachel Hensly my beloved
Daughter and twenty Shilling to my beloved daughter Salley
Davis my beloved daughter and twenty Shillings to my beloved
son William Cantriel and twenty Shillings to Mary Mc
Colley my beloved Daughter and Twenty Shillings to Benjamin
Cantriel my beloved Son & Her - Constitute & appoint my
beloved Son Isaac Cantriel my Soule Executor of this mt last
Will and Testament, and I do hereby Utterly disallow revoke &
Disannull all and every other former Testament Will legascy
bequeath and Executors by me in any Wise made ratifying and
confirming this and no other to be my last Will & Testament
in Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this
third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and four Signed sealed publishd published

MClay one of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded
At the same time the Executor therein named qualified accordingly
