Geneva M. Longnecker, age 90, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois (formerly of Chauncey), passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at her residence. She was born January 19, 1924, in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of David E. and June (Loos) Baker. She married Harold Franklin “Pude” Longnecker on March 3, 1946, and he died August 1, 1992.

Geneva was a farm wife. She and her husband spent their entire lives farming.

Preceding Geneva in death were her parents, her husband, one brother, two sisters and one grandchild, Jeffrey Pride.

Survivors include a son, Gail Longnecker of Chauncey; two daughters, Linda (Jim) Bradford of Evansville, Indiana and Martha (Leslie) Richards of Mt. Carmel; one brother Carroll “Windy” (Marie) Baker of Olney; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner.

Burial in Waggoner West Cemetery in Chauncey, Illinois.
