KINGSVILLE — Anna B. Fortune, age 89, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsville, Ohio.

She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Conneaut, and was the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Scheid) Bly. Anna was a graduate of Conneaut High School and a member of New Leaf United Methodist Church.


She worked for Astatic and was a volunteer Gray Lady at Brown Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Connie (Arlan) Vines of Pierpont; her son, Richard Fortune of Conneaut; grandchildren, Trevor Vines (Laura Seastrum), Stephanie (Brian) George, Deanna (Chris) Wall, Christina Fortune, and Jessica (Eric) Bailey; and eight great-grandchildren with one due shortly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard W. Fortune; sister, Eva Rea; brothers, John and Jim Bly; and a half-sister, Helen Plosila.

Graveside Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6th, at GlenwoodCemetery, RT. 20, Conneaut, with Tim Kraus, of ConneautChurch of Christ, officiating.

Contributions may be made to the Activities Fund of the AshtabulaCounty Nursing Home. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery, and also at MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has charge of arrangements.

Anna's family would like to give a special thank you to the personnel of E-Wing and the activities department at the AshtabulaCounty Nursing Home and RehabilitationCenter for their loving care during her stay.
