Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Rubberarm", he pitched for 11 seasons beginning in 1915 for the New York Yankees until into the 1919 season. He appeared in 114 games over that span winning 26-36 and saving 13 games. He was traded mid-season to the Boston Red Sox where he played until 1922. He finished his career with the Washington Senators from 1923 to 1925 appearing in the 1924 World Series beating the New York Giants. He pitched three innings of Game Three in middle relief. In 1920, after the spitball was banned from use, he was one of the few pitchers allowed to continue using it. His brother Clarence "Lefty" Russell also played ball.  (bio by: Robert)
