Ruth Meador Truman, 94, of Hardy, passed away Monday, March 31, 1997.

Ruth was the widow of Nicholas Charles Truman and was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Law.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Jack Pendleton, Richmond, Virginia Simmons Wirtz, Dolores and Laurel Huff, Roanoke, Sarah and Donnie Chisom, Sandra and Ernest Spangler, all of Hardy; her sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Kathleen Truman, Gene and Jean Truman, Nickie Truman, all of Hardy; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Beulah Swain, Anne Meador, Tab Meador, all of Shawsville, Florence Sink, Winston Salem, N.C., Maxine Mitchell, Roanoke; her brothers, Claude Meador and wife, Dee, Jimmy Meador and wife, Mary, all of Roanoke, Pete Meador and wife, Virginia, Wirtz, Raymond Meador and wife, Claudine, Roanoke Co.

Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel Wednesday, April 2, 1997, 11 a.m. with the Rev. John D. Riggs and the Rev. Jeff Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
