Jerilyn M. Zahn, age 47, of Westhope, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 in her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Westhope. Visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Nero Funeral Home in Westhope.
Jerilyn May Zahn, a daughter of Jerald and Deloris (Neuman) Middaugh, was born on July 6, 1964 at Minot. She was reared and educated in the Lansford area.
On July 11, 1980, she was married to Teri Zahn at Bethel Lutheran Church rural Antler. After their marriage, she worked with Teri on the family farm. In 1991, she provided daycare for a time. In 1993, Jerilyn worked at the Westhope Home for the Aged as a CNA and she later became the activities director. In 2003, she became a Medical Transcriptionist working for Data Key, Eagles Landing and UDT until her illness forced her to quit. Jerilyn has resided in Westhope since.
She became an EMT-1 and a driver for the Westhope Ambulance in 1995. Her passion was helping other people in the community. Jerilyn was a 4-H leader for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church she taught Sunday School for many years. She also served on the Board of Deacons and on the WELCA Board. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Jerilyn was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, niece, Amber Gust and her mother-in-law, Irene Zahn.
She is survived by her husband, Teri at home; daughters, Becky and her husband Kris Walcker of Minot and Daisy and her husband, Matt Glueckert of Williston and Stacy and her husband, Ryan Metzen of Westhope; a son Tyler Zahn and his wife Ashley of Minot; grandchildren, Chase, Quentin and Boston Glueckert, Tucker Zahn, Carter Zahn and Kinsley Metzen; brothers, Joel Middaugh and his wife Ann of Wilton, Harold Middaugh of Lansford; sisters, Charlene and her husband, Bob Evanenko of Bismarck and Latricia and her husband, Brad Atwood of Antler; a father-in-law, Marvel Zahn of Westhope; brothers-in-law, Dan Zahn and his wife Donetta of Bogue, KS and Bruce Zahn and his wife Christy of Altus, OK; sisters-in-law, Janell and her husband Rickie Gust of Claycomo, MO and Susan and her husband Emmett O’Neil of Columbus, ND; dearest fiends, Richard and Norma Bauer, Ryan and Amanda Petrick and their children Eva and Lane and Steve and Ginny Heth.
