Eugene Earl Hall, age 89 of Newport, died Aug. 16 at the Newport Health and Rehab Center.

He was a member of the English Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher and song leader.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II.

He retired from Alcoa Aluminum in 1994 after 35 years of service.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife Barbara Whitson Hall of Newport; his children: Chris (Teresa) Hall of Warrior, AL, Debbie (Bobby) Erby and Tim (Debbie) Hall and Robert (Vicky) Hall of Newport; his sisters: Jewell Lafollette of Newport and Lola Belle (George) Hitchcock of Chicago, IL.; and his brothers: Raymond Hall, Conley Hall and Jerry (Pat) Hall of Newport. He was also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and special friends Carthel McCoig of Sevier Co. and Rodney Carrell of Maryville, TN.
