The former Ida Parker, she was born Oct. 31, 1866, in Rome, the daughter of Calvin E. and Susan Sheppard Parker. She had resided in Rome most of her life.
On Feb. 15. 1888 in the town of Rome, she was married to A. Henry Bowers, who survives. The ceremony took place in the First Presbyterian Church with the late Rev. James H. Taylor, D. D., pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Queen Esther Rebekah Lodge, IOOF, and an honorary member of El Ayah Zuanna, Ladies of the Orient.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. William M. (Pearl) Brunner, Rome; a son, Roswell P. Bowers, Buffalo, a sister, Mrs. Susan A. Domino, Rome; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Rome Daily Sentinel, Tuesday Evening, April 1, 1952
