Ersa B. Kirkland, of Big Gully, Tennessee gained eternal life at the age of 85. This pillar of her community was surrounded by family and extended family in her home on Tomotley Road as she fought a short battle with an aggressive cancer.
She was preceded in death by her best friend and soul mate, JR Kirkland; parents, Tom and Mae Johnson McCall; sisters, Delcia Yates, Verdell Steele, and Ida Mae Mccall.
She is survived by her loving son, Jarvis Lynn Kirkland; brother, Wallace McCall; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews; and a great-great-great-nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Union Grove "Big Gully" Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
