GRAND SALINE - Services for Verda Childress, 82, Louisville, will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Woodside Cemetery under the direction of the Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with the Rev Tom Pesnell officiating.
Mrs Childress died at her home Tuesday night after an illness.
She was born Sept 2, 1902 in Arkansas. Mrs Childress was retired from the Simmons Mattress Company. She was a former resident of Grand Saline and lived in Louisville one year.
Survivors include one daughter, Edyth Apple, Louisville; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
[She was the last surviving child. Her younger sister, Ruby Louisa Hulsey Stinnett Earls, was born on 19 Nov 1910 and died on 7 Oct 1982 in Riverside Co, CA, burial location currently unknown.]
