He was a member in 1711 and deacon in 1712 (Braintree 1st Ch by Bates, 4). He was a cooper (Bass Desc, 15) and served in the Indian War 1675 (Braintree Farms, #352). No probate record was found.
Note: He is not the Samuel Bass who M. Ruth Hayden 1711.

According to two significant sources, (a) "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations," Vol 16, Part 1, pg 135 & 136 & (b) "Mayflower Increasings," Alden, pg 5, Samuel was married four times. (1) Ann Kirtland - m. ~1687, their daughter Ruth was born ~1688; (2) Mercy Marsh - m. 29 Nov 1689, no children; (3) Mary Adams - m. 18 Jul 1694, five children; & (4) Bethiah Nightingale - m. 14 Oct 1706, two children.
