My granddaughter had begged me to adopt a kitten so off we went and adopted two kittens. One, we named Bubby, who was so loving and the other kitten could have cared if we left her there or not. (Sissy)

I can't even begin to tell you what it meant to have that little sugar around. He was so sweet and knew what he wanted and how to get it.
Bubby was also a communicator, unlike Sissy, who didn't want to be bothered and had nothing to say, so when we would hear Sissy meow loud we automatically would look to see if Bubby was "bothering" her. (clearing my throat here) I would say his name and he would slink by me as if he had no idea what just happened.

Down through the years I would leave them out in our yard from time to time and they became friends with the squirrels and an occasional skunk coming through our yard heading for someone's garden. They would pass by and Sissy and Bubby would just look at them and go back to whatever they were doing. They were mostly house cats....I didn't want them outside that much and only then, in our yard. I remember one time, I walked across the road to speak to my neighbor and she was laughing and pointing and when I turned around, both Bubby and Sissy were sitting across the street in their own yard waiting for me to come back.

Over four years ago, Bubby appeared like he was having seizures. I took him to his Dr. who ran blood work on him and found that he had thyroid problems. Bubby was put on medicine and seemed to perk up. I then took Sissy in for a check-up the following week with the blood work done, the Vet said she had renal failure. What a blow that was.
We continued to take care of both of them.

After Sissy passed away, Bubby became more needy of me. He began to follow me around to every room and would sit or lay down wherever I was. I know he missed Sissy even though she didn't want a lot to do with him.

When I was first told about Bubby's thyroid problem the Vet had told me that on the meds he was taking....he would probably live four more years, he said that the meds help for that long but other than that, I shouldn't hope for anymore years.

The past month or so, I noticed that Bubby started, what I thought was being finicky about his eating. He started refusing his thyroid medicine and so I made the appt. to the Vets and she ran tests on him. The blood work showed that Bubby was anemic, thyroid was out of normal range, kidney function was out of range and that his immune system was low. I wasn't surprised as he was not acting like himself.
The Vet gave him fluids and such, but there came a time, when I felt, that it was time. No one wants to make that decision but the Vet left it up to me. The second series of fluids, we noticed that Bubby's legs were swollen and so, we knew, with everything else, there were heart issues.

This is not new news about Bubby and I, as everyone has, at one time or another, gone through this. So yesterday, August 20, 2014, at 12:52 PM, Bubby went on to Rainbow Bridge to see if Sissy is still not speaking to him and seeing if others will chat with him. (smile)
I told my little rug-rat to tell Sissy hello for me. I told him how much I loved him and how much I would miss him. I also told him, that I would see him again.

Bubby, I'll see ya when I see ya.
I love you my little poop-shoop babe!

I wish to thank everyone who leaves Bubby and Sissy a token.

I also wish to say a huge Thank You to Dr. Blaha and the Agape Vet. Clinic for Bubby's wonderful care and especially when he really needed them this past week. Also, Thank You so much Dr. Blaha and Staff for the beautiful flowers. He was (and all animals are) like a person to me and to have flowers sent to me, shows me that you and your staff recognize Bubby as important as us humans.

Today...August 25, 20014, Agape called, I can bring Bubby back home now.

Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
