"Robert S. Stansbarry, 61, of 727 S. Eddy St., died at 1:15am today in Osteopathic Hospital, after a year's illness. Born in Vilas, N.C. on April 19, 1903, he came here in October 1963, from Wheatfield, Ind. On June 24, 1924, in Johnson City, Tenn., he married Lenos Gwinn, who survives.

Also surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Richard Leedy of Jackson, Ohio, miss Alene of Rensselear, Mrs. Wallace Whittaker, Mrs. Gene Holbrook, and Mrs. John Garling, all of Wheatfield, and miss Sue of South Bend; four sons, Robert and I.V., both of Wellston, Ohio, Lee of Dayton, Ohio, and Mack of Wheatfield; 29 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Cornell of Malta, Mont., and four brothers, George of South Bend, Claude of Santa Rosa, Tex., Luther of Washington, and Wiley of Vilas.

The body was taken from the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home to the Gaskill Funeral Home in Wellston, Ohio. Burial will be Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston. Pallbearers will be Gary Maynard, D. L. Stansberry, James Stansberry, James Angles, Charles Long, and Charles Clark."

Also, he was survived by a sister-in-law, Jessie Stansberry of Johnson City, Tenn.; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Robinson of Doeville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by three children, Billy Jack, Carolyn Faye, and Marlin Mae; his parents, Duff & Jane (Norris) Stansberry; a sister, Martha Robinson; and three brothers, Lee, Harrison, and Emmit Stansberry.

He was born and raised in the Beaverdam Community (Vilas), Watauga County, North Carolina. As a young adult, he moved across the border to Johnson County, Tennessee. After marriage, he moved to Washington County, Tennessee. In 1943, he moved his family to Wellston, Ohio. Around 1955, he moved to South Bend, Indiana, before moving back to Wellston a couple years later. He moved back to South Bend seven months before he died.
