SAVANNAH, Mo. -- Clara E. Acord, 95, Savannah, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mrs. Acord, a homemaker, was born Nov. 7, 1904, near Savannah. She lived most of her life in Andrew County where she attended the former DeWitt Rural School and Savannah Schools.
Mrs. Acord was a member of Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church, San Antonio, Mo.
On Jan. 7, 1925, she married Ralph R. Acord in Troy, Kan. He died in 1990.
She was also preceded in death by a son, K. Russell Acord; her parents, Ira E. and Mary E. Barnes; four brothers, Claude, Raymond, Ira and Paul Barnes; and three sisters, Doris Denning, Evelyn Guelick and Florence Sublet.
Surviving: two daughters, Ruth A. Schwader and Dolores Reeder, both of St. Joseph; two sisters, Beulah Lewis, Savannah, and Ruth Gourley, St. Joseph; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday, Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah. Burial: Savannah Cemetery, Savannah. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Due to a reporter's error, Mrs. Acord's name was misspelled in Sunday's paper.
