James Thomas Robinson, 94, of Winter Haven, Florida, and formerly of Anderson, passed away on August 11, 2014 at Community Hospital, Anderson. He was born on March 10, 1920 in Anderson, and resided most of his life in Anderson and Winter Haven.

He served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal for his service.

He retired as a Corporate Pilot for Avis Industries in Upland Indiana in 1982.

He was a member of Hump Pilot Association, and he enjoyed flying. If it had anything to do with flying, he was interested in it.

James is survived by his loving daughter, Schafalia "Susie" (David) Zirkle of Anderson; sister-in-law, Schafalia Wise; grandchildren, Edie (Mike) McGrady, Amy (George) Urbanski, Tom (Brandi) Wood and Teresa Durham; great-grandchildren, Jacob Chatman, Andy Wood, Alex Wood, Aiden Wood, Katie Urbanski and Kayla Durham; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dellia Robinson; mother, Bertha Robinson; father, James Henry Robinson; son, Thomas Trevor Robinson; sisters, Edith L. Custis and Mable Fox.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2014 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, Indiana.

Services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the funeral home with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.

Burial will take place in the Pleasant Walk Cemetery, Anderson, with military rites performed by the VFW Post # 266.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
