*Christophel (Christopher, also Christoffel or Stoffel) Richter was born 29 Jun 1645 at Siegen, Germany to Johannes Richter and Anna Nee.

PARENTS: Johannes Richter was born in 1605 at Siegen, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. His father was Jacob Richter and his mother was Anna Maria (last name unknown).
In 1632, he married Anna Nee, and they lived in Seigen. Johannes was a member of the Guild of Hammersmith's and Smelterers, a trade organization into which he was admitted in 1638 or 39.
According to Mrs. Smart's book (based on Germanna Record #4), he was a "Reidtmeister" or middleman.

They had a son named Georg Henrich Richter (b. 1681) who had a son named John Jacob Rector who immigrated to Virginia in 1734. (b. 1707 in Germany, d. 1742 at Fauquier County, Virginia). This grandson (John J. Rector, the 1734 immigrant) likely married Mary Tilman (a Germanna girl) . Apparently, many of the Rector's in central Ohio descend from this branch of the Rector family. It is also possible that many of the Rector's in Campbell Co., Tennessee descend from this line.

GRDPARENTS: likely that Jacob Richter was the son of Hans Richter and Katherina Seyler. He was born about 1575 in Nassau-Siegen, Germany, and in 1609 he was listed as living in Siegen, Germany. It is possible that he died about 1662 at Loehrstrasse, Nassau-Siegen, Germany.
Jacob married a woman named Anna Maria (last name uknown). She was also born about 1575.
They had at least 3 sons:
1. Tillmann Richter, born about 1600 in Siegen, Germany. Died about 1665.
2. Johannes Richter, born 1605 in Siegen, Germany. He married Anna Nee (?) in 1632.

GRT GRDPARENTS: Hans Richter was born in or around the city of Freiburg, Sachsen, Germany abt 1550. He moved to Siegen, Germany in 1585, when he was recorded as having paid a fee to become a citizen of that city. He may have married a woman named Katherina Seyler (b. 1557) about 1584
Katherina Seyler was born about 1557 at Ruppertsgruen, Bayern, Germany.

Christophel was a clockmaker in Trupbach, Nassau, Seigen, Germany.
According to Clara Smart, he was "a member of the Guild of Steelsmiths and Toolmakers of the Freudenberg District.

He married Anna Catherina Becker around 1665.

He died abt 1713 at Trupbach, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Probably buried on home farm or in local cemetery now lost with no marker.

Anna Catherina Becker was the daughter of Hermann (1620-1670) and Ottilia Becker (who were married 1637), also of Trupbach. Anna Catharina Becker was born at Trupbach on 19 Jun 1640, and died there on June 5, 1713.

Christopher Richter and Anna Catharina Becker possibly had the following children:
