Burton O. Turner, 88, of Mansfield, died early Saturday morning, July 16, 2005, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born July 30, 1916, in Morrow County, he was the son of Guy E. and Viva Auld Turner. He retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company after 40 years of service and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by a sister, Kathleen Prion of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews including, Beverly and Edgar Robinson of Mansfield, Jeffery and Susan Turner of Aurora, Col., Susan Prion of San Francisco, Cal., and David Prion of Sunnyvale, Cal.; stepchildren, Howard Gilbert of Mansfield and Richard Gilbert of Newark; and several step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Eleanor Turner, brothers, Lloyd and Byram Turner, and stepchildren, Thomas Gilbert and Hazel Karbula.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, July 19, from 7-9 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
